Japanese Tradition

Kabuki feat. Hatsune Miku

Niconico collaborates with Kabuki, traditional Japanese theater with a 400-year history, to realize the world’s first internet distribution of the art form! It features the unveiling of an unprecedented and spectacular show which combines Japanese tradition and advanced technology to bring together popular Kabuki actor Nakamura Shidou and the virtual diva Hatsune Miku. The performance will combine Yoshitsune Senbonzakura, a Kabuki classic since 1747, and the world of Senbon Zakura, the most famous UGC song, to create a Chokaigi original story. BACK

Traditional Swordsmith

Long ago, a samurai could never be found without a sword on his waist. Swords were even said to be the spirit of samurai.

A swordsmith skilled in a craft with more than 700 years of history will temper actual swords at a Japanese-style forge specially erected in the venue! A workshop will also be held where visitors can experience forging traditional Japanese swords. BACK

Niconico Shrine

Niconico Shrine is an original attraction which combines Niconico Live-streaming with shrines, the traditional sacred structures found in Japan. In this attraction, “worshippers” state their wishes while facing a camera. Instead of wishes being directed to the gods, answers for whether or not the wish will come true are given in real-time through the comments of viewers on the other side of a PC screen. At Niconico Chokaigi, the shrine will be erected on a raised area which resembles the summit of a mountain. In this challenging attraction, visitors will have to climb a bouldering course to reach the shrine and make a wish. BACK

Advance application was held for couples who met through Niconico and one couple was selected to have a wedding.
