JAPANESE TRADITION
Cho Kabuki
In this performance, vocaloid virtual diva Hatsune Miku and the popular Kabuki actor Nakamura Shidou teams up to combine Japanese tradition and advanced technology to give a sensational performance like never before.
This year’s program is called “花街詞合鏡 (Kuruwa Kotoba Awase Kagami)” – a love story between Shidou and Miku.

Real Sumo
One of the main events taking place at Niconico Chokaigi is the “Real Sumo” which combines technology and Japan's traditional sport "Sumo".
The audience gets to watch a sumo match right in front of their eyes with special CG effects.
Over 250 sumo rikishi (wrestlers) will gather including Yokozuna such as Hakuho, Harumafuji and more!
Niconico Shrine
Niconico Shrine is an attraction that combines Niconico Live Streaming with shrines, the traditional sacred structures found in Japan. This year, Niconico Shrine collaborates with Osaka University's Ishiguro Laboratory to conduct a voluntary romance experiment on the visitors.
In this experiment, 2 subjects of different sex who are complete strangers will enter a room to have a series of conversations - subjects however can only ask or talk based on the choices given to them on a touch-screen. The objective is to test whether conversations based on given choices are better at creating relationship rather than a normal free conversation.
At Niconico Shrine, Androidol "U" will act as a coordinator for the subjects. This is a part of another experiment where a robot like herself tries to learn human emotion.

Go & Shogi
Go and Shogi are traditional Japanese board games which recently regained popularity among the younger generation through Niconico Live streaming.
Visitors can get a hands-on experience on what it’s like to compete against an A.I robot from the Denou-sen - “Denou-sen” is a major Shogi tournament hosted by Dwango in which professional Shogi players compete against A.I. This year, the latest version of the robotic arm “Denoute” developed by Denso will play for the A.I Shogi player.
